Come paint rocks with us!
Next Session:
Monday, December 9th; 5-8PM
Simply: paint a rock, seal it with resin to protect your masterpiece from the elements, and then place it out in the world for someone to find. On the bottom of each rock is a label directing the finder to post a photo of it to the Iowa City Rocks group and then keep it or rehide it.
We have a collection of supplies you may need but encourage donations of any of the following items:
-monetary donations to purchase more supplies.
-rocks (please clean/dry them)
-acrylic paint
-stickers
-resin
Join other artists on the second Sunday of the month for an evening of sketching.
The basement will be reserved from 5-7PM for a still life drawing session. Subjects will range from arranged objects to pets to volunteer clothed models. Doors will be locked by 6PM when Press closes so please arrive before then to purchase any beverages.
Bring your own drawing supplies, some may be provided.

Eating Disorder Awareness Iowa City is a group Erin McCain created to provide support for people in the community who want to share their experiences in a safe environment with others who understand what it is like to live with an eating disorder. Treatment options for eating disorders are increasingly limited in Iowa, and most options such as residential, partial, and outpatient programs can only be found out of state. Since a strong, supportive community is one of the most fundamental parts of maintaining recovery while in treatment, EDAIC is taking matters into its own hands and building a network of support so everyone can feel heard and understood while battling an often isolating mental illness.
EDAIC is NOT monitored by a healthcare professional and is hosted by Erin who has over four years of recovery. She realized that the need for an understanding and empathetic meeting place for people experiencing eating disorders was a growing need in the area. If you or someone you know are struggling with disordered eating, resources can be found on the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) website.
